Machu Picchu – Huaynapicchu


DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA (biking & rafting)

We will pick up you from your hotel around 7 am., then we will head to the Sacred Valley and then to Ollantaytambo town where we’ll get the last provisions. Around 11 am. we’ll arrive to the Malaga High Pass (Abra Málaga) 4,500 m.a.s.l. or 1,4850 Ft., there, our guide will bring a safety chat, and then bikers will change in to the kit provided by us (gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, helmets and goggles)
Freewheeling down quiet but challenging roads, past changing landscapes and ice capped mountains, and rivers, to reach Huamanmarca, (archaeological complex), end of our trail with bikes, boarding the bus to get Santa Maria town around 3:00 pm. Approx.
(Opcional)After a lunch, we will be ready to start a new adventure, doing in this time a withe river rafting tour, this exciting journey will start in Santa Maria bridge, doing a journey of 2 hours through the Vilcanota Sacred River, there we will see beautiful landscapes, finding rapids of nomination 3 and 4 (dry season) becoming then a very exciting and awesome journey, here we will always have a safety kayak, to provide the security we need (This is an additional service). Once the journey is done, a bus will be waiting for us to go back to Santa Maria where we will have dinner and spend our first night in a local house.
The rapids in this part of the river are considered some of the best in Cusco and the warm weather makes this tour and unforgettable experience.


We will begin from 5 am. After breakfast, we’ll start the walking next to the river, the we’ll cross it using a steel basket pulled by strings, while we get into the high jungle we’ll have the chance to see amazing landscapes, local people, different kind of plants and animals. When we get to the top we will see the whole valley of the Low Urubamba, thence during the walking we will find an original Inka trail. Going on with the walking, we will arrive to the Quellomayo village where we will get the lunch, and then we will continue to reach Santa Teresa hot springs (healthy properties), after a relaxing bath we will continue walking for 40 minutes more to Santa Teresa town where we will have dinner and spend our second night in a hostel. Party optional.


Following the path taken by the first expeditionaries we’ll arrive to Santa Teresa ( 1,900 m.a.s.l. or 6,270 ft.), we will walk around 4 hours, and we’ll have the chance to see water falls coming from the glaciers. Likewise we will see coffee and coca plantations; arriving to the Hydroelectric where we will have lunch, after that, we will continue walking along the Train Rail from there, Arriving to Aguas Calientes Village in the Afternoon, transfer to our Hotel. Free afternoon. We’ll get together in the night for dinner and planning the climbing up to Machupicchu for the next day.

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU (visit to the Inka citadel)

Around 4 am. we will get ready to go to the Inka citadel of Machu picchu, the walking will follow an up going trail through the jungle, having the amazing opportunity to see the sun rising while walking; after registration in the Park control desk around 6 a.m. we will appreciate the sun rising with some luck, then we will be visiting inside the inka citadel with the presence of our guide who will share everything he knows about this wonderful citadel during two hours approximately and then you will have free time to visit and walk by your own, having account the returning train schedule.
If you have the entrance to Huayna Picchu we could climb up yourself where one can see the citadel at all its explendor. In the afternoon, we will go down by walking to Aguas Calientes, to take our touristic train to Ollantaytambo and then we’ll be picked up in touristic bus to Cusco City.
