Itinerary

Is without a doubt the world´s most important and picturesque Incan route. It is surrounded by exquisite natural beauty and offers a fascinating and unforgettable experience to get to Machu Picchu.

DAY 1: CUSCO – WAYLLABAMBA

We pick up it from the hotel to 7.00 o’clock at 7.30 in the bus that took us directly toward Piskacucho (2700 meters above sea level) a small community located to the height of the kilometer 82 of the one on the way to Cusco to MachuPicchu, where we begin our walk and we will unite with the whole team of professionals that you/they will make possible that our trip is an entire success. We will cross the bridge it stops then to begin with our walk along the left bank of the river Urubamba that flows to the Northeast of the Sacred Valley. After going by some plane terraces, we will arrive to Miskay (2800 meters above sea level.) it stops then to ascend and finally to see the Inca City of Patallacta or Llactapata (2750 meters above sea level.) then we will continue our walk along the valley created by the river Kusichaca, until reaching to our first camp of Wayllabamba (3000 meters above sea level) where we will have a repairman it has dinner and we will spend the night. During the journey, we will be able to enjoy a splendid panorama: the one laughed Vilcanota, The mountain range of Urubamba, with the summit of the mountain the Verónica (5750 meters above sea level), recovered of snow and of a great flora variety and fauna along the whole journey.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYU

In this day after the breakfast approximately at 7.00 o’clock, we will begin our walk, the day but it lasts of the trek, the walk consists on a precipitate ascent and it narrows for near 9 kilometers. Along this ascent the landscape changed mountain to puna, a dry and high area with scarce vegetation. At this time the first and higher step of the mountain to 4200 meters above sea level, known as “Abra of Warmihuañusca” (The pass of the dead woman). There we will be able to observe flames and German nickels you tame that they pasture in the “ichu”, one of the few plants that grow in that altitude. We will also cross for an area of the forest where they inhabit diverse classes of animals as the sparrows and the Andean bear or bear of Spectacled. After having overcome the step, we will descend toward the valley of Pacaymayu (3600 meters above sea level), where we will camp after the 7 hours of walk.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYU – WIÑAYWAYNA

This is the most interesting and impressive day in our walk, we will visit a without a number of guided archaeological places which will be explained by our guide. From Pacaymayu we will go up to the second step “Abra of Runkurakay” (3970 meters above sea level). We will visit the archaeological complex from the same name to 3800 meters above sea level and we will meet with important vestiges of the Inca Culture. After passing the step we will descend towards Yanacona (black lagoon).Finally we will arrive to Sayacmarca (3624 meters above sea level.) place where the lunch will be given then we will continue with our walk and to observe as the geography is changing from dry and mountainous aspect to green semitropical forest brow. We continue for an easy ascent, we will arrive to the third step “Abra of Phuyupatamarca” (3700 meters above sea level.). We will continue our walk then will go by an Inca tunnel and to already arrive to the mentioned step. This is one of the conserved more complete and better archaeological complexes that it is in the highest point of the mountain. Phuyupatamarca means “The Cloud on the City” of where we will be able to observe a sophisticated one complex and made up of the water sources with the solid foundations and with impressive views of the Urubamaba river along which we will continue going up towards Wiñayhuayna (2700 meters above sea level) what means “Always Young”, you will have a guided spectacularly visit to this archaeological complex . We will have dinner and will spend the night in our camp.

DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU

In Wiñaywayna we will get up early approximately at 4:00 in the morning to go toward the Door of the Sun or IntiPunku where we will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Machupicchu and we will observe the sunrise after walking on the plane stones on the edge of the cliffs of the mountains. From Intipunku we will descend towards Machupicchu arriving approximately in 40 minutes and then we will go towards the Machupicchu Inca City where we will enjoy a guided of approximately 2 hours where we will have a free time to walk around the citadel or to ascend to the mountain of Huaynapicchu, where it will experience spectacular views of valleys and mountains or to visit the temple of the Moon and the fabulous Inca bridge. Subsequently in the afternoon we will descend toward Aguas Calientes town, where we will be able to visit the hot springs. Finally we will return by train to Ollantaytambo o Cusco Poroy train station . To the arrival, we will transfer to the hotel.
